Yes, I get a 201 on registration and see the response with the application id.
I'm still not clear on what to do once we've created an application connection? For the back-end WS, we can call http://<SMPServer>:<ProxyPort>/<ApplicationID> without creating an application connection. Are we passing in the app id solely for the sake of tracking?
This is how I thought it would work:
- Create application connection/register against SMP
- If no application connection created, can't communicate with back-end WS
- If application connection created, proceed to communicate with back-end WS
I thought registering with SMP will encrypt the transmission or offer another layer of security. It sounds like creating an app connection is only used to track, use push, etc.
